WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Should you decide to contact me, I would like to gain an initial understanding of your reason for seeking therapy and if it is appropriate we could arrange a time to meet.
The initial session is usually for an hour and subsequent meetings are for fifty minutes.
At the first meeting you would be welcomed with courteous regard and respect and you will have the space to get a sense of how comfortable you feel with me which in turn gives me the opportunity to get to know you a little.
I will take some time to discuss the initial process which will include going over issues relating to confidentiality and any practicalities which you need to know more about. I would then ask for a history of your background noting any specific areas of concern or trauma.
I will then have some understanding and information about you from which I can make recommendations for future treatment.
Hopefully we can then arrange a subsequent appointment.
Sometimes it may be in your interest to look elsewhere for example you might feel more comfortable meeting with someone of another age group or different gender. I can advise accordingly.
